Thigh High Boots in the Professional World?
\The weather is just starting to cool and I’ve seen a ton of celebrities wearing the over-the-knee and thigh-high boots. This looks like this is going to be a great trend for Fall/Winter 2009-2010. These boots are to die for and are great for a night out on the town. But are the professional enough? Will your bosses think you’ve reverted to Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman? Or are they professional if you pair it right?
Thigh high and over the knee boots in a corporate or professional setting are absolutely unacceptable unless you have pants/slacks covering them. And if you are covering them what’s the point of wearing them? No matter how you try to justify it any boots that goes higher than the bottom of your knee is unacceptable. It’s possibly borderline cause for unwarranted sexual harassment. Let’s be honest theses over-the-knee and thigh-high boots draw attention to your legs and subsequently your derriere (butt). This means that your male co-workers will be drawn to this and this may lead to unsavory remarks or comments.
Avoid the drama and speculative looks by not wearing over-the-knee or thigh-high boots. Of course, they are the rave this season and are most definitely a must-have for every woman who can pull it off. They just are not for the corporate office though. Save this for a night out with friends or just a day when you want to wear boots and look your best when not at work.
