Professional Development: Learning Computer Applications
\There are so many computer applications today that many people get lost in the race. The professional world is definitely a race. You need all the development you can get and even tutorials to stay up to date to the new computer applications and programs being put out and to keep up with your ever growing job responsibilities.
I vividly remember applying for a job and the supervisor asking me if I was familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and Word. I definitely was familiar with them but didn’t have the greatest amount of knowledge on them. The first day on the job I was given a task to do on Excel and spent the first fifteen minutes on Google to figure out how to perform this task without looking incompetent.
Now there are many programs and tutorials available to help you learn the necessary skills you need on the computer. One that I really like is Video Professor. I have personally tried this program out and it is a very good program indeed. You can return the product if you don’t like it but I would advise you to at least try it out first!
Video Professor sends you compact discs (cds) that will take you from the basics to advanced. So invest in your professional development ladies and gentlemen.
